Don't let the Black Ice win folks...don't let it win!!!

This is the view from my the window in the front of my apartment.  As you can hopefully see...there is a windy snow storm a brewing out there. For the past week, we have had a continual flow of snow and rain, but tonight that continual flow from mother nature took it to an all time wintery high, by allowing it to snow all day while simultaneously dropping the temperature. What does this mean?  Well, it means...the snow, plus the temperature dropping right as Pittsburghers were getting out of work, equaled the perfect storm for mass chaos as portions of our untreated roadways were completely covered in black ice--AWESOME!

For all of my readers who live in warmer climates and may be unfamiliar with the definition of black ice.  It is when water freezes with little to no air bubbles underneath; therefore, it takes on a transparent look and blends in to whatever it's covering...basically, it becomes a lethal ice chameleon.  UGH!  On my 3 mile trek home, there were 7 accidents...yep!  Alright folks...it's winter and sneaky van sneak "Ice" and his doppelganging pal "Black Ice" are out...loud and proud...so let's slow down and drive safe!
